Lucy Bronze leaves Liverpool

Today it has been announced that defender Lucy Bronze has left Liverpool Ladies and will join Manchester City Women ahead of next season.
During her time at Liverpool Lucy Bronze has become a crucial first-team player for both club and country, making 40 appearances in a red shirt and scoring 3 goals.
Two successful years on Merseyside seen Bronze lift the league trophy twice with Liverpool, also named Liverpol’s Players’ Player of the Year in 2013 and Vitality Player of the Year and @LFCladiesfans Player of the Season in 2014.
Earlier this year Lucy also picked up the prestigious PFA Players’ Player of the Year at the annual ceremony in London, voted by her fellow professionals around the rest of league.

The entire Bronze family will be sorely missed at Liverpool, I would like to wish Lucy the best of luck with her new club.

  1. This blog is nice, too nice. Lucy is a great player. She's leaving for a major rival and frankly I want to know why Liverpool have allowed it to occur. Assuming she was out of contract, why were Liverpool not able to encourage her to stay? Why could they not compete? Is this a sign of what is come for the Ladies team?
